David: Free Gucci 2: The Burrrtish Edition (Mixtape)

Free Gucci (Best of The Cold War Mixtapes) has been one of my favorite remix mixtapes of all time. Yesterday, February 1st, Free Gucci 2: The Burrrtish Edition, was released. This mixtape was put together by Sinden and Mad Decent and includes a list of producers from These New Puritans, Hudson Mohawke, and Rustie with 16 remixed Gucci tracks. Guest appearances can be seen from Wiley, Dream McClean, Ghetts and Slick Don.

Some notable tracks are "Gucci Time," "Brand New," "Party Animal," and "Haterade."

David: Pony by Ginuwine (Lazerdisk Party Sex Remix)

Lazerdisk Party Sex is an electronic DJ duo right out of Vermont featuring DJ Prez & my old DJ instructor, DJ ZJ. Recently they just came back from a mini tour in Martha's Vineyard and their music has been spreading all over the place on sites like Hypem. One of their recent remixes was released a little while ago, but I want to give these guys a proper introduction with one of their most popular songs, Pony, a remix of Ginuwine's original song. Check it out below:

David: Thank Us Later (The Remix Album)

Many of you probably know the internet, stores, and the rest of the world have been buzzing about Drake's debut album, Thank Me Later (support the man and buy it here). Yesterday the remix album done by Cookin' Soul and Don Cannon also came out. And let me tell you, IT IS GOOD. I even threw up one of the songs on my Tumblr last night.

What's cool about this album is that Cookin' Soul and Don Cannon didn’t have the acapellas so they got in the studio together with french top producer Spike Miller and electronic spanish producer VibaSound using real live instruments from guitars, to bass, to piano, to strings, and synths. Everything necessary to create this monster with remixes, mashups & originals. Check out the track list and download below.
