I just downloaded the new Recovery album by Eminem, which just leaked recently (though I do plan on buying it when it's out since I'm a huge Eminem supporter), and in it's behalf I decided to throw up his song "Stan" featuring Dido. For this week I decided to throw up "Jesus Walks" by Kanye West. For the past couple gigs I've had I couldn't help but drop "Jesus Walks" in it. The samples taken out of "Walk With Me" performed by ARC Choir are killer. And on top of things this song made me a Kanye fan from the beginning. David: Throwback Tuesdays!

Another Tuesday another Throwback video! This week is Gang Starr's song Mass Appeal off of their album Hard to Earn. For real I've played this song over 100 times in my iTunes playlist and it goes down as one of my favorite hip-hop tracks of all time. Unfortunately Guru, 1/2 of Gang Starr, just passed away last month at the age of 48 and was a huge hit to all of the music world. R.I.P. to one of the greatest. Check out the video below.

Below is A Tribe Called Quest's video for their song, Scenario. This track was the third single off of Tribe's second album, The Low End Theory, back in 1991. I think this video is funny because it features, then, Leaders of the New School member, Busta Rhymes looking about 10 times scrawnier than he is today lol. This is a classic for sure. Enjoy...

David: Throwback Tuesdays!

Below is the video to "Let Me Ride" by Dr. Dre from the album, The Chronic, which was released back in 1992. This video was shot in Los Angeles on Slauson Avenue and was directed by Dre himself. It was also nominated for a MTV Video Music Award for Best Rap. The song, "Let Me Ride," was one of my favorite tracks off The Chronic and also one of my favorite songs when I started getting into hip-hop from back in the day. Back again with the second week of "Throwback Tuesdays!" Below is the video to Ready or Not by the Fugees. For those who don't know who the Fugees are this was the group that launched the careers of Lauryn Hill, Wyclef Jean, & Pras. Unfortunately this group broke up back in 1997. Still crossing my fingers for them to get back together some day though! But anyways check out the video below:

Seems like every week we're doing something new lol. So from now on every Tuesday we'll be throwing up music from back in the day. For the first post we'll be featuring Drop by Pharcyde. Saw these dudes live at the Rock the Bells concert two summers ago and I've always been in love with their music. Also this video is dope and thought it was cool how it was done.
