For the next couple days I'll be heading to Boston for a school trip... Although I'm kind of just using it as an excuse to get out of Vermont, have a bus driver drive me instead, and go do my own thing. First on my agenda (besides all this school stuff) is to meet with my good friend CJ Bowman. You may remember him from previous posts we put up of him on the site awhile back. Another new Ditto mix is coming out again soon, so we need some grade A cover artwork! Be on the lookout for that to drop soon!
Yeah, you probably didn't even know I was gone, but for the past couple days I have been in New York City with my good friend CJ Bowman checking out some of the trade shows that have been going on. So I'd like to say I'm officially back!
This was probably one of the craziest trips that I have been on and one of the most productive. For those that aren't familiar with what a trade show is, these were the upcoming 2011 seasons from over 400 featured clothing companies in the three shows we went to (Capsule, Agenda, and ENK). Each of these held different companies and a large amount of clothing. My favorite was probably Capsule, which was held in a 5 story building lined with companies from Naked & Famous to Ben Sherman (for a full list click here). There are still pictures to come from our trip, but I'd like to thank CJ Bowman, OKAY!! OKAY!!, Create Build Destroy, and Steez for a good trip. Hope all the TKFV followers have had a good couple days as well!
CJ sent this over to me today to check out on his blog. Below is another new piece from the artist and TKFV homie himself. In his own words he explains more about it below:
"Growing up in Vermont and always being close to nature has left its mark within a majority of my art, and the exploration of human traits among the wild. There was no real intension with this piece other than I bought some paper and wanted to silk screen. So it is up to the viewers interpretation. Writing this now I am pondering the idea further coming up with my own thoughts about the piece, so I guess it is to think about it. Take it in."
We introduced this guy not too long ago in a post last Tuesday, in which he showed us his recent completion of his Bill Murray Stencil (which by the way was accepted to the Street Dreams Art Show at JDK in Burlington, Vermont). Today he shot me the link to his new time lapse video for the piece entitled "Astro the Thinker." Check the video below!
Me and this guy have known each other for a long time. In
fact he was the first true homie I had when I moved to Vermont four years ago and the reason Gray and myself met. So allow me to introduce CJ Bowman to the TKFV community! This guy is an amazing artist, photographer, and graphic designer. In fact he's making a TKFV logo for us, so already this guy is apart of the family.
But just recently he sent me a time lapse video of his
new work of art. A stencil of Bill Murray from the cover of Lost in Translation. And not only is this video dope, but it took 15 hours to complete everything. So everyone check out the video below! This man is in the TKFV family, and we do not disappoint!
